Penn State named American Concrete Institute Outstanding University for 2018

2/22/2019

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State has been named an American Concrete Institute (ACI) Outstanding University for 2018.

The ACI identifies the universities that qualify for excellent or outstanding status using a points system and ranks them based on participation in select ACI-related activities and programs. Points can be earned for the number of student members, participation in concrete competitions, attendance at ACI conventions and committee meetings, community service, student chapter activities and hosting campus meetings and events.

Universities that earn 6 to 11 points are recognized with the Outstanding University Award. Penn State is one of 80 schools to be recognized for this award for 2018.

Recipients will be recognized during the ACI Spring Concrete Convention and Exposition in Québec, Canada March 23-27 and also will be featured in Concrete International magazine.

Penn State will receive a special banner as recognition for the award.
