Donald R.F. Harleman Honorary Lecture in Environmental Fluid Mechanics

Each year, the Donald R.F. Harleman Honorary Lecture in Environmental Fluid Mechanics enriches the academic experience of faculty and students in the Penn State Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering's water resources program by connecting them with distinguished researchers and industry leaders from outside of the University.

About

Established in 2002 by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Donald R.F. Harleman Honorary Lecture in Environmental Fluid Mechanics celebrates the distinguished career and contributions of Harleman, '43, B.S. A recipient of the Penn State Outstanding Alumni Award in 1979 and named an Alumni Fellow in 1987, Harleman is the Ford Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a member of the National Academy.

The lecture series was made possible through an initial gift from Joseph Reed, professor emeritus of civil engineering at Penn State. Individuals and organizations are welcome to make tax-deductible contributions to support and further endow this annual lecture.
