Civil engineering alumnus receives AAWRE award

Civil engineering alumnus Gary W. Brunner, a senior technical hydraulic engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydraulic Engineering Center, was recently awarded the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE) 2016 Outstanding Practitioner in Water Resources Engineering Award.

He received the honor during the May 23, 2016 conference in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Outstanding Practitioner in Water Resources Engineering Award is given annually to an AAWRE Diplomate who has made significant contributions through engineering practice based on either a single outstanding achievement or through a body of work related to the practice of environmental or water resources engineering.

Brunner was recognized for his continuous outstanding and significant contributions to the profession of water resources and environmental engineering. 

Brunner received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Penn State.
